2011 TVCG Best Reviewer Award
Ronny Peikert was given the 2011 TVCG Best Reviewer Award by the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics.
TopoInVis 2011
The Scientific Visualization Group hosted TopoInVis 2011, the Fourth Workshop on Topology-Based Methods in Data Analysis and
Visualization.
We are one of the research groups belonging to the Chair of Computational Science which is part of the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich.
Our research has a main focus on the visualization of fluid flow data, especially on the extraction of structural information from 3D time-dependent velocity fields. We are also investigating the direct visualization of SPH (smoothed particle hydrodynamics) data and other functionally represented data.
Our teaching
covers the basics of scientific visualization and information visualization, and a selection of more advanced topics. In the practical exercises, a variety of visualization algorithms are implemented in CUDA. In our seminar, recent visualization papers are presented and discussed.
